Annual OIC Youth Day Celebration

On every 3rd of September, the ICYF celebrates the OIC Youth Day with the OIC Member States to raise awareness on youth related issues and promote youth creativity as critical factor for national development as well as to boost exchange of the best practices for implementing more efficient youth policies in the OIC Member States. Also, OIC Youth Day serves as the considerable mark of building common Youth Policy in the OIC geography. Every year, the OIC Youth Day focuses on major issues and trends for youth development and urges the youth organizations and associations to celebrate the OIC Youth Day simultaneously in the OIC region.

In 2020, at Üsküdar Science Centre in Istanbul, the ICYF celebrated the annual OIC Youth Day under the theme of “Volunteering”. The OIC Youth Day Program welcomed all the OIC Member States to celebrate this day with various activities and achievements to raise awareness on volunteerism and global issues. The best practices on youth volunteerism were shared by H.E. Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Mr. Azad Rahimov, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the ICYF. On the margins of the celebration, a protocol of cooperation was signed between the ICYF and The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Türkiye for the continuous joint effort from 2020-2021. The winners of the Volunteering International Photography Competition were awarded, and the selected photos were exhibited both on and offline in order to raise awareness on volunteerism.
