ICYF President’s message on the 28th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide

H.E. Mr. Taha Ayhan, the President of the ICYF expresses his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the people and Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the 28th anniversary of the Genocide of Azerbaijani civilians perpetrated by the Armenian armed forces in the town of Khojaly (the Republic of Azerbaijan) in 26 February 1992, which is the most brutal and violent act of the history of Azerbaijan committed against peaceful civilians.

The Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) welcomes the President Ilham Aliyev’s calls upon the international organizations not to remain indifferent to the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and his concern over the double standards regarding this problem by the international community.

The ICYF, in this respect, remains on the side of Azerbaijan in all its international efforts and campaigns, including those at the United Nations and the OIC, for the implementation of the relevant international law in order to punish those Armenian murderers who perpetrated the Khojaly Genocide.

ICYF also has supported the “Justice for Khojaly” International Awareness Campaign (www.justiceforkhojaly.org) since its launch on 08 May 2008, at the initiative of Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva, the General Coordinator of the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum with the clear endorsement of the OIC its through relevant Resolutions. In this context, ICYF is annually organizing the activities of social awareness under the campaign of ‘Justice for Khojaly’.
