The joint ICYF and Religions for Peace ECOSOC Youth Forum side event, “Faith, Science & Social Inclusion: A United Path to Sustainable Development and the Empowerment of Youth”, was held in New York.

ICYF Director of Finance and Administration Mr. Sinan Karşıyaka delivered opening remarks alongside Ms. Deepika Singh, Deputy Secretary General of Religions for Peace; Mr. Oguzhan Balcı, Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Türkiye to the UN; and Mr. Giovanni Bassu, Deputy Director at UNHCR.

Panelists included Mr. Fabio Friscia (UNICEF), Ms. Kehkashan Basu (Green Hope Foundation), Ms. Maliha Fairooz (NYC Dept. of Health), Ms. Lyka Mtambo (Religions for Peace), and Mr. Steve Chiu (UN Youth Representative), who shared powerful insights on youth-led action at the intersection of faith, science, and inclusion for a sustainable tomorrow.
