The second edition of the long-awaited Kazan Global Youth Forum kicked off on the 28th of August 2023 in Tatarstan. The global youth event, which serves as a unique educational platform for exchanging opinions and best practices on youth policy, commenced with an opening ceremony attended by H.E. Ms. Leila Fazleeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan; ICYF President H.E. Taha Ayhan; Dr. Boubakari Maiga, Head of Youth and Sports Department of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Secretary-General (on behalf of OIC Secretary-General); Honorable Mr. Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan; HE Dr. Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). Delegates, youths from across the OIC region and the world, also attended the event’s opening ceremony held in the former OIC Youth Capital.

During his address, H.E. Taha Ayhan welcomed everyone to the Kazan Global Summit 2023, emphasizing the success of the Kazan OIC Youth Capital 2022 while highlighting the leading role played by the Republic of Tatarstan in making the year-long program an international success. His Excellency also underlined the importance of preserving our common values and called for unity and active youth engagement for positive change.
