Mr. Yunus Sönmez, the Director General of the Cabinet of the ICYF Secretariat, delivered the address of ICYF President H.E. Taha Ayhan on the second day of the inaugural Albaraka Summit in Istanbul. In his speech, Mr. Sönmez emphasized the need for Islamic finance to meet global challenges and present itself as a competitive and appealing alternative to the current unjust global financial system. He also highlighted the importance of participation finance for the youth, noting that they are in need of opportunities to improve their lives. Mr. Sönmez advocated for more initiatives like ICYF’s incubation center, mentorship, and entrepreneurship support programs to integrate young people into the financial world as active participants.
