ANNOUNCEMENT: PANEL ON “THE CRISIS OF AL-AQSA AND THE APPROACH OF THE OIC

ICYF-DC ORGANIZES PANEL ON “THE CRISIS OF AL-AQSA AND THE APPROACH OF THE OIC”ICYF-DC organizes a panel on the status of Al-Aqsa mosque in Al-Quds Al-Sharif. Unfortunately protests by civil society of the OIC Member States and broader international community evoked by the recent attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque in November, 2014 has not been able to prevent restrictions imposed by the Israeli authorities on the free worship in the mosque and further aggravation of this dangerous aspect of continuing illegal occupation of the East Jerusalem. While the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque is in the vital interest of the Muslim world, prevention of the legal access and right of the Muslims to the Holy sites of Al-Quds is dangerous of further deteriorating inter-civilizational relations on a global scale. With a view of positively contributing to the OIC countries’ efforts in implementing the task of strengthening solidarity on the issue of Al-Aqsa Mosque, ICYF-DC together with a leading Turkish think-tank SETA is organizing an academic panel dedicated to reviewing historical status of Al-Aqsa and analyzing actions and reactions of the OIC countries toward ensuring the internationally recognized status of Al-Quds. The panel to feature the leading researchers in the field will also discuss the efforts by the OIC Member States and civil society responses worldwide aimed at ensuring free access to Al-Aqsa.

In this regard, ICYF-DC Secretariat has the honour to invite you to kindly participate and contribute to the deliberations of the Panel entitled “THE CRISIS OF AL-AQSA AND THE APPROACH OF THE OIC” to be held on 13 December 2014, from 11.00 to 13.00 at SETA-İstanbul (Defterdar Mah. Savaklar Cad. No:41-43, Eyüp, İstanbul).

Due to the limited seats, you are kindly requested to register via office@icyf-dc.org or 0212 465 39 39.
