Opening and Media Briefing Ceremony of Dhaka OIC Youth Capital presents Dhaka OIC Youth Capital Film Awards 2020-21

On 15th March, 2021, Opening and Media Briefing Ceremony of Dhaka OIC Youth Capital presents Dhaka OIC Youth Capital 2020-21 took place at Projection Hall of Bangladesh Film Archive. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh hosted this ceremony chaired by Khaja Miah, Secretary, Ministry of Information. On this Ceremony, Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Information was present as the Chief Guest. Md. Akhter Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Taha Ayhan, Hon’ble President, Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), Dr. Md. Murad Hassan, MP, Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Information and H.E. Md. Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports were present as the Special Guests of this program.

After starting the ceremony with recitation from verses of the Holy Quran, Mr. Khaja Miah, Secretary, Ministry of Information delivered the welcome speech. In his speech he mentioned, “To keep our youth on the right track, we should encourage young filmmakers to make ethical short films, which will make them more responsible and aware”.

Later, Mr. Md. Akhter Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports in his speech as special guests said, “the goal of the Dhaka OIC Youth Capital Film Awards 2020-21 is to bring together young filmmakers and encourage them to speak out and enhance their skills through the process of filmmaking”.

After that Mr. Taha Ayhan, President, Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF), said “As institution, Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) have always attached importance to Art and tried to include this kind of projects under its huge umbrella. We believe that this is a way of expression, a way of joy, a way of making people understand things which can’t be done verbally”.

Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Information, Md. Murad Hassan, MP, spoke as special guest of this ceremony where he invited youth to participate in this event and mentioned, “I urge all Muslim youth from OIC member countries and representative from Muslim community from other parts of the world, join us in this event and submit your work. As the aim of this event suggests, it will inspire and encourage more and more youth to get into film making and raise their voice”.

Later, Md. Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Youth and Sports, delivered his speech and expressed his gratitude to the organizers, participators and all the distinguished guests and delegates. Wishing all the success and prosperity to this great initiative he mentioned that, “Our government is always supportive of young Bangladeshi filmmakers to nurture their young minds to develop their freedom of speech and creativity. As a result, the recent change in Bangladeshi cinema is visible and the golden age of Bangladeshi cinema is now taking place”.

Hon’ble Minister, Ministry of Information, Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, delivered his kind speech as the chief guests of the ceremony. In his speech he mentioned, “Young Bangladeshi filmmakers are gaining a reputation in the country and abroad, getting accustomed to the latest film technology and new trends in film”. He thanked ICYF and OIC for organizing this initiative to develop the intelligence and creativity of the youth and for hosting the Dhaka OIC Youth Capital Film Awards 2020-21.

After delivering speech he inaugurated Dhaka OIC Youth Capital Film Awards 2020-21.

Next to the inauguration of this journey, a promotional video on Dhaka OIC Youth Capital Film Awards 2020-21 was premiered.

To conclude the program, the end of the program was announced after a mesmerizing cultural program.
