The ICYF delegation headed by H.E. Taha Ayhan, participated in the OIC-IUIU Cultural Event under the theme “Culture, Education, and Development: Experiences from the Muslim World” on 11-12 June 2022, in Kampala, Republic of Uganda.
The said cultural event co-hosted by the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) saw the participation of Government Officials, the Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Affairs of the OIC, the Permanent Representative of the KSA to the OIC, heads of OIC institutions, political leaders, high-level diplomats, academicians, religious leaders, and local community leaders.
The two-day cultural event aimed at promoting cultural rapprochement by building bridges of understanding with other cultures and civilizations among the Muslim communities. The illustrious festivities involved various activities ranging from an official opening ceremony, gala dinner, exhibitions, cultural performances, cuisine, Quran and Adhan recitation competition, lectures, poem recitation, and sports activities to displaying artifacts, traditional cloths and calligraphy.
On the same occasion, the ICYF was given an exhibition stand to showcase its different projects empowering youth to several distinguished guests, participants, and students.
